Getting an app through App Store review
JJAY Campus Companion went through multiple rejection cycles before it was approved. Here is how I would approach it now.
JJAY Campus Companion did not get approved on the first try. It went through multiple rejection cycles before it went live. It is on version 1.0.4 now, and this is what I would tell anyone shipping their first iOS app.
Read rejections like bug reports
A rejection is a specific claim about your app. Fix exactly what it says, reply clearly in App Store Connect, and resubmit. Arguing costs more time than fixing.
Plan for how a reviewer gets in
If your app only lets people sign in with a school email, a reviewer cannot just make an account. Think about their path through the app before you submit.
Own the release
Binary uploads, review notes, and post-launch hotfixes are part of the product. Budget time for them the same way you budget time for features.
